So much for snow
Well, we ended up getting about a half inch yesterday. Not enough to cancel school or make snowmen, but it was pretty.
We ended up home anyway. Little sis has a raging tonsil infection. She has officially been sick since Christmas Day with this bug. Took her back to the doctor yesterday and this time we got to see our regular guy. Apparently the other doc we saw the first time prescribed the wrong amount of antibiotic. She was getting 1/2 tsp instead of 1 & 1/4 teaspoon. Not too happy about this. She is much more sick now, and has had a fever of 104 for three days.
Little sis with her Webkinz “Beatiful Sparkly Jewel”- and yes that’s the full name
Sorry about the vent. She is doing better now that we have the correct dose. The next step is to talk to the ENT about removing tonsils altogether. Anyone done this with a 4 year old? I had mine out when I was 22, and I hate to think of putting her through that, but since the tubes this past fall she has not gone more than 5 days in a row without a sore throat.
Off to make jello!

I had mine out at 25 it was torture, Big Brother had just barely turned 5 and did great, it was such an easy recovery and he was fine and dandy and rarely sick again- nothing like being an adult at all. I was expecting a really rough time and the stinker wanted a hamburger for dinner!! Worth the anxiety for the healthy kid in exchange.

I had my tonsils out when I was 5 or 6 and it was fine. I’ve heard it’s a much harder surgery for adults.

Hi, Beak, my Miss Beau, had her tonsils out when she was 4 (2 years ago now) she also had adniods removed, and grometts put in her ears.
It was mostly ok, the Dr, and the hospital staff were great, we took all the favourtie toys (5) who all went into surgery, they took my into surgury to, and i stayed and held her hand, untill the anestitic (how do you spell that) took her.
She came out of the surgury fine, and you have to encourage them to eat normal food, even though it hurts, –its to keep the wounds clean.
Even though kids tend to bounce back qucikly, you have to keep them quite for a few weeks.
Unfortunatly for Beau she started to bleed about 5 days after the surgury (and about 3 hours after Handy, had gone interstate for work). I was gratefull for an e-mail that my S.I.L. has sent that had told my to take imediate action, if Beau bleed,—-because nobody else had.
She was handled with great care, and the Dr said it was just “bad luck” We got through this, and it would have been better if Dad, was there.
Dispite the complications, i am happy with the results, and i don’t have a child who is constantly sick, — thats great.
I have more tonsil stories, because my 16 year old had hers done 6 months ago.
I think this is much scarier for Mums, than anyone else, I think that Beau, more than anything saw this as an opportunity to get presents –and there was plenty.
I hope this helps, many blessings for your family, Jacky
